Santa Cruz seniors face issues signing up for vaccine appointments – KSBW Monterey

A drive-thru COVID-19 vaccine clinic opened Friday morning in Santa Cruz for Sutter Health patients.The hospital has moved to vaccinate patients who are 75 and older.The drive-thru went smoothly although there were some senior patients who felt let down.They all had to register before they could receive their vaccination. “I was able to get in and get this appointment at 11:00 this morning. I believe it is the first day that we’re doing it. I am a retired physician,” said Dr. Terry Hollenbeck of Scotts ValleyBut other seniors were left frustrated because they could not schedule an appointment by phone or through Sutter’s website.”I’m getting constant e-mails from them saying, you can log-in and sign up–and I have tried repeatedly! Ten times today and I keep getting computer errors and it keeps dumping me out,” said Ralph Kimball of Boulder CreekOthers voiced concerns that Sutter doesn’t provide a drive-thru location close to home.”It’ll be difficult for us to go over the hill to the San Jose area, Milpitas or Fremont. The other facilities they are giving us the options for,” said Kathy Trent of Scotts Valley.Sutter said they included a Santa Cruz location on their web site.but couldn’t offer any additional solutions for seniors who were having issues logging or phoning in.
