Westmoreland County commissioner tests positive for COVID-19

County said it has already implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of the commissioners’ suite.

Westmoreland County Commissioner Gina Cerilli has tested positive for COVID-19, the county confirmed in a news release on Tuesday. Read the full statement from Westmoreland County below. “On December 15, 2020, Westmoreland County was informed by Commissioner Gina Cerilli that she tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. As in the past, the County immediately implemented steps to minimize the impact to our workplace and to keep all employees healthy and safe. Commissioner Cerilli is currently following isolation recommendations. Westmoreland County Human Resources department will conduct contact tracing. The County has already implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of the Commissioners’ suite and continues to take precautions, including masking and temperature taking at the Courthouse. The County extends its get well wishes to Commissioner Cerilli.”Last week, Westmoreland County board of commissioners chairman Sean Kertes tested positive for COVID-19.Westmoreland County Commissioner Douglas Chew tested positive for the virus in October.
